THE ARTISTS

the art of the trip

From the very beginning—it’s been a feeling, a movement, and a visual vibe. We're proud to feature the artists who helped shape that look and continue to bring it to life today. Their creativity, care, and imagination are part of our story—and we’re thrilled to share that part with you.

The Artist Behind the Trip

Back in the ’70s, when trails were dusty, waves were wild, and the good vibes were flowing, Gary LeCroix picked up his pen and started drawing what he felt: freedom, adventure, connection. A true original, Gary’s artwork helped define the spirit of Skin Trip from day one—his hand-drawn labels and far-out illustrations captured the soulful, playful essence of a brand born to explore.

Still riding the wave decades later, Gary’s art remains a timeless part of our story. His work doesn’t just decorate our bottles—it carries the magic of where we’ve been and invites you to take the trip, too.

From her studio on the island of Kauai, Brooke brings bold color, beachy energy, and deep heart to everything she touches. A longtime friend of the brand, she’s helped us reimagine what Skin Trip looks like today—infusing our legacy with fresh life, while honoring what’s always mattered most: the feeling.

Through playful designs, thoughtful details, and an eye for what really connects people, Brooke helps us celebrate what it means to live well, love big, and share the Trip with the next generation. Her art reminds us to stay true to ourselves, embrace the ride, and keep spreading the good vibes.

julie benjamin

Julie is a multi-medium artist, archivist of the original Trip, and daughter of Skin Trip founders Karen and Tom Benjamin. Raised among ink-stained sketches and coconut-scented batches, she brings both creative flair and deep heart to the brand’s evolving story.

Whether she’s painting, drawing, designing, or teaching, Julie brings the same passion: preserving what matters and passing it on. She’s lovingly combed through hundreds of original artworks—rescanning, restoring, and reimagining them to keep the legacy alive. When she’s not bringing the Trip to life behind the scenes, she’s in the classroom, inspiring a new generation to find their own creative spark.
